RDC Nepal, established in 2002 in Rautahat, has spent over 23 years working to uplift marginalized and disaster-prone communities, particularly in Madhesh Province. Its foundation lies in addressing poverty, social exclusion, and vulnerability among women, children, Dalits, Muslims, and landless households. Through partnerships with international organizations and local governments, RDC Nepal has implemented multi-sectoral programs in education, health, livelihoods, disaster risk reduction (DRR), water and sanitation (WASH), and gender empowerment.
Over the years, RDC Nepal has carried out a wide range of projects, including child protection, education support for flood-affected communities, anti-human trafficking initiatives, safe migration programs, and COVID-19 response efforts. Its disaster management work—especially in flood-prone areas—has focused on preparedness, early response systems, and recovery support, helping communities better cope with natural hazards. WASH and health interventions have improved sanitation, access to clean water, and maternal and child health outcomes.

The organization’s long-term impact is evident in stronger community resilience and improved quality of life. DRR initiatives have enabled communities to respond more effectively to floods and other disasters. Education and child protection programs have increased school participation and awareness of child rights, reducing risks like child labor and early marriage. Livelihood programs, including micro-enterprise development and climate-smart agriculture, have supported thousands of families in achieving greater economic stability and food security.
Additionally, RDC Nepal’s focus on gender and social inclusion has empowered women and marginalized groups, promoting participation in decision-making and reducing gender-based violence. Overall, its integrated approach—combining humanitarian response with sustainable development—has significantly contributed to building resilient, inclusive, and self-reliant communities over the past two decades.
